This was a hot mess. The bangers and mash were horrible. The gravy just tasted like alcohol, the sausages were charred to an unpleasant level, and the...
Finally tried a bar in Brampton they had a decent menu and good beer selection , I enjoyed myself here on a Friday evening and would definitely come back !
2017/04/30<br/ It turned out to be pub night in Brampton for us. SWMBO spotted the familiar Firkin decor, so we pulled into The Frigate. The place was less than half full, and we chose to sit in one of the two comfy booths. <br/ <br/ SWMBO ordered the Chicken Waffles. The chicken was fried in a buttermilk batter, which was good and crunchy. This was topped with a pepper and milk gravy, and accompanied by a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. Pleasant dish. <br/ <br/ I chose the Chef's Chicken Curry. Savoury, with just enough curry heat to give me a gentle glow. <br/ <br/ Server was very friendly and attentive.
Pleasantly Surprised. Having visited many of the Firkins in the francise, I'm fully aware of the defficiencies in the menu and so was pleasantly surprised by a recent lunch at this location. Usually just a nice pub for a pint, we decided to try the new menu. My buddy had the big poutine which was everything that the title suggests. It was a meal in itself with nice pulled pork, bacon and cheese. I had the steak sandwhich which was cooked to perfection with a substantial amount of fries. While, by no means gourmet, the food was great pub food and the staff was helpful, polite and extremely friendly. I'll be back.
