We called one evening for a delivery and got the owner on his cell phone (in Winnipeg shopping for more supplies) but he promised to be ready the next evening. And we were not disappointed. As we put together our choices he made a couple suggestions for dishes that would be more complimentary of the other choices. It is a bit spicy, but more aromatic than hot. If you think of some types of Indian food that is what some dishes are like, but most are like nothing we have ever had before. It is NOT Indian food as we would define it and BTW we like Indian food and have enjoyed the food at Chili Chutney in the past. Because it was our last evening in Brandon and the food was so good we saved a little it to bring home --- leftovers for our family to try --- just to tease them!. The aroma in the car on the way home was amazing and it was good the next day. If its your first time we suggest you just ask them for a good selection based on some of your personal preferences. We understand that if you eat in there is a buffet and that might let you taste a good range of their cuisine. We were going to order samosa but he suggested we try the fried yellow pea balls (well seasoned!). The Chicken Briyani is the best (ever), beautiful aroma and better taste with nice large pieces of chicken. Then he suggested a nice lamb curry as an alternative style, and he was right. Lots of nice large, tender pieces of tasty lamb in a robust curry. It says it includes a salad --- we assumed it was a throw in, but it was good as well. For about $35 incl. taxes the owner delivered to our door and seemed shocked to get a tip.Portions are generous --- I mentioned leftovers --- this would have easily fed 3 hungry people. Enjoy!
I am a huge fan of Indian food. I love strong, aromatic (and sometimes HOT) dishes. So when we decided to try this Mauritian food, I was kinda interested because it sounded similar to Indian food. It FAR surpassed my expectations!!! It is a slightly different flavour palette than Indian, not as hot, but equally flavourful. I ADORED the Chicken Biryani. If you like cumin, it is an absolute must try!The curry is equally as good; strong, aromatic, but not hot. The meat used was very good quality. This has become my Must-Go-To resaurant when I am visiting Brandon. The price is right. You get very respectable portions for the price.
Quick is the French version of McDonalds (though, yes, France does have McDonalds).
After a month in Paris I was dying to try some fast food from Quality Burger.
