I didn't enjoy any of the dishes I ordered except the fries. Been to 5* Vegan in LA NYC and even with alcoholic drinks was less expensive than this place. Croutons were so hard I was trying not to break my teeth. Desserts were bland. Service was promptly though. Place has a cozy atmosphere.
I am sitting in G Zen as I write this. When I walked in the hostess did not say hello to me or my friend the only words she spoke to me was “someone has a reservation at this table at 5:30”, it was 3:45. Another one of my friends joined us for lunch asked for a glass of water. Our server never brought her water and even said “oh that’s right you wanted water” was laughing still did not bring my friend water another server did when she noticed my friend did not have water. Then our server gave us the check and gave us to go boxes while we were still eating our food, we weren’t done eating yet I wanted to order a dessert to go. Then the hostess grabbed my purse gave it to one of my friends to move it because of a table she was seating next to us. I’d prefer it if she didn’t touch my belongings could have instead let me move it. When we tried to express our concerns to our server she denied everything gaslit us. Never in my life have I been treated so badly at a restaurant or felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. I just wanted to have a nice time with my friends. We will never come back.
Zen-sational !!! The best vegan cuisine in CT I 've had so far! It 's hard to find a classy vegan restaurant with food and atmosphere fit for a Valentine 's Day dinner but G-Zen definitely succeeded! Before you even enter the restaurant you are met with a magical garden leading up to the restaurant. The restaurant is filled with cute decor, easy lighting, and candle-lit tables. We ordered a three course meal with a bottle of eco-friendly wine (pictures). It was exceptional from start to finish! We began with the artisanal vegan cheese plate from the special valentines menu. It came with three cheeses flavored with sun dried tomato, beet horseradish dill, and pesto respectively. It was decorated with an assortment of bread and fruits! So delicious and very visually appealing! I personally ordered the tofu and portobello mushroom Wellington! I was surprised at how filling and flavorful it was! It was delicious in its own way without trying to taste like a beef Wellington! 10 out of 10!! My partner enjoyed the Mayan Sun enchilada which she describes as magnifique. My favorite cake is carrot cake so naturally I had to try the vegan carrot cake! It was soft, perfectly textured, perfectly sweet, and perfectly flavorful! It was garnished with mint leaves and sliced apples which added a pleasant freshness to the cake! Yum!! This may even rival my favorite carrot cake at Edge of the Woods in New Haven! My partner enjoyed the scrumptious and luxurious chocolate lava cake!! You don 't have to be vegan or vegetarian to enjoy G-Zen! I promise you won 't be disappointed! Cheers!
Small vegan restaurant with a ton of different food drink options (both alcoholic non-alcoholic) I got a vegan reuben and it tasted exactly like a normal one!! It also came with some sweet potato fries that were delicious Have a bunch of deserts also, but I did not try them 9
Mid. Too expensive. Maybe good if you're vegan but otherwise it's gonna be a no from me
