My wife and mine visit, always exceptional. One of the waiters was a little too friendly and chatty with his choice of subjects, but other than that it was great.

Was really looking forward to this but it was possibly the most disapointing Michelin star experience' I've ever had. We visited on Boxing Day before a flight to warmer climes from Heathrow that evening. The pub itself is lovely and obviously has history. The welcome was friendly but a bit ott for a pub. We ate from the Christmas menu and all opted for Turkey dinners. The food was good but was exactly as described and nothing more, a reasonably well cooked roast turkey dinner with nothing particularly special about it. Indeed I have had home made roasts which were just as good. The cost for three roast dinners, two pints of decent enough beer and a coke was close to Perhaps I expected too much (with this being a Heston Blumenthal owned pub with a Michelin star that I am mystified how it received) but I left feeling a bit deflated and slightly ripped off.
