3.5. This restaurant is slightly hidden away, and although quite vacant on a weekday night, I was delighted to find that the food was generally excellent with authentic flavours, large portions and definitely deserving of a larger crowd. The fish cakes are full of flavour, grilled marinated chicken was very good, son-in-law eggs were hard-boiled (as they supposedly should be . Beef salad was a little bland, whilst the soft shell crab special was delicious in a tasty sauce of capsicum and carrots. The duck green curry was excellent (and huge! , the papaya salad was pretty good and the roti quite nice. Strangely, the weakest dish of the night was the pad thai which wasn't well marinaded in tamarind sauce and a little bland. Overall though, prompt service and delivery of food, and a great dinner with some very good dishes. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.
We have been here for a few years and only for lunch. <br/ <br/ My review may not be very helpful as I've only ordered the same dish the sweet and sour fish with rice. It's on their lunch menu. <br/ <br/ It's not the best I've had, not the worst. <br/ But I'm happy going back each time I feel like a quick lunch of sweet and sour, without parking hassles. It's more the convenience for me than the taste. <br/ <br/ Staff friendly.
Being a local, I have been meaning to get to Jantra for a while. Finally I got to go here for dinner with family. <br/ <br/ Jantra is kind of in an industrial area and near the railway line. When I pulled into the carpark I saw a wild rabbit hopping about. It did not hop off when I opened my car door. <br/ <br/ We went and had an early dinner ~6pm) as we had very young people with us. Jantra was not busy at this time but as the night went on it got busier. <br/ <br/ Service was friendly and with a smile, the place was clean and tidy but maybe in need of a bit of a spruce up inside. <br/ <br/ We did not have to wait long for our entrees spring rolls vegie and chicken) and chicken satay skewers. The vegie spring rolls were enjoyed more than the chicken ones. <br/ <br/ The chicken satay had plump pieces of chicken and were cooked very well. The chicken was very succulent. The peanut sauce was very acceptable. <br/ <br/ Our mains came out pretty quick. For mains we had chicken fried rice, coconut rice, massaman curry, king prawn with mint salad, crispy soft shell crab, and a beef and vegetable stir fry. <br/ <br/ The massaman curry seemed to be the favourite dish, the chicken fried rice was also great and the kids just loved the coconut rice. The soft shell crab could have been crispier, but it may have just been that I did not get to it quick enough before moisture got to it. The kids loved it. <br/ <br/ Would I return? Yes.
Had driven passed so many times only went here because Thai Angles was closed, so glad we did. Food was delicious, came out very quick was good sized portions. Stand out dishes; son in law eggs Pad Thai. Lovely service, will be back next time we crave Thai
