Freeze - Brazil

Tastee Freeze is a summer must-stop for me when I'm in town. Amazing ice cream at a much lower price/size than across town, great service at the walk-up windows, and an old-fashioned style that reminds me of being a kid. There is a full menu of shakes, soft-serve cones, mix ins, as well as sandwiches and snacks. With a small dining room in the back and a couple of picnic tables around, there's usually plenty of seating if you want to stick around and enjoy. Or, the speedy service will make your order and get you on your way!

Got the pulled pork, which wasn't good at all. Would rather have school cafeteria pulled pork. The grilled cheese and BLT were good. Service was pretty good. Tables are nice, just not special. Have had the tenderloin before, which is good. Moral of the story is to not order pulled pork unless they specialize in it.

Never again. I mean, how can you screw up soft serve ice cream? And that's IF you can catch them open. They seem to open randomly, and then close 5 minutes later. Got a sundae there recently. Hot fudge wasn't that hot. Tasted and smelled musty. talked to an employee who has since quit, and she explained that the can is put in a water warmer, and that what you're tasting is the paper and glue from the can, as water had got into the fudge. I took a few bites, tossed it, and believe it or not, by the time I walked back up the window, they had closed for the night. Saw that no one broke down the ice cream machines. Everyone went off and just left it. A HUGE no-no. And yes, I got sick. Called the board of health, never going back.

Tenderloin sandwich was good, one of the best ones Ive had since Spelterville closed in North Terre Haute. Place is a true hole in the wall, service was fast and friendly.

They've expanded their menu, and the food is just terrible. And the prices went through the roof. Average just over $11 per person. This place used to be very good.
