Salt Creek Steakhouse - BRECKENRIDGE

The atmosphere is lovely, but the food doesn't quite match up. My wife had the steak, which was decent but not outstanding. Our waiter mentioned the restaurant used to be a smokehouse, so I opted for the BBQ plate with ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. The portion size was small and the food was mediocre. The ribs were small and the overall taste was just average. Perhaps it's no longer a smokehouse. The prices are too high for what you receive. I doubt we will be returning.

The food was enjoyable, but the restaurant was slightly cramped and they did not offer a way to split the bill between guests.

We ordered two $52 steaks, but they were mostly fat. The bread was also cold because it sat for a long time. The server rarely checked on us or refilled our drinks. It's not worth the high price.

Good food cooked perfectly. Allow split plates in case you can’t handle the whole steak Did a split plate on ribeye and Waitress Marissa was excellent. Have been here twice and both times were wonderful.

We had a 6:30 reservation and was called by the manager earlier in the day and asked if we could come early because of a large party they were hosting. We showed up 30 minutes early to support that request. My only pushback is that they should have acknowledged us upon arrival and then asked us to wrap up before 8pm. Instead, they came to the table at 8pm and asked us if we did not mind leaving, in a very gracious way. Then they paid for a round of drinks for our party upstairs. The great part was the GM came and personally asked us and offered the drinks. A class act as he did not delegate this difficult conversation. The food was excellent. Great steaks and trout. There are some great tables upstairs outside if you are there in summer. Highly recommend.
