In the 3 nights there, we tried the traditional fish and chips through the gourmet chicken stuffed with salmon in cheese sauce with cream and wine. Every dish exceptional! Comfortable spacious bungalow complete with tea, fresh fruit, and chocolate biscuits! Best place to return to after walking the Pingo trail! Many thanks, Owner and Chef Richard and your excellent staff
We recently visited the restaurant to celebrate our Mother's 90th birthday. With a variety of dietary requirements, we have often been disappointed with the food that we have been served in other restaurants. However, at The Chequers Inn, the Chef took it upon himself to make sure that we were all completely happy with our meals. The food was fantastic and the service exceptional, the Chef even came out during our meal to make sure that we were happy. We shall be returning. Well done and thank you.
We stumbled upon this charming country pub while visiting family in the area, looking for something different from the standard chain pub fare. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the drinks and food we had for lunch, even though we arrived right before they closed the kitchen at 2pm. We opted for the hunters chicken and fish and chips, as they had run out of their popular pies. The portion sizes were generous for the price, especially the huge fish covered in a light and delicious homemade beer batter. The hunters chicken was also delectable, with a large chicken breast topped with bacon and BBQ sauce, served with a side of chips and salad. We highly recommend this pub if you're in the area, with a cozy outdoor seating area and even guest rooms available in their attached B&B.
The food, service, and atmosphere at this restaurant were all excellent. Not a single flaw to be found. The specially adapted Eton Mess was outstanding. Great value for the price. I highly recommend it.
Great little pub and restaurant. Stopped by for a drink after long walk and really enjoyed. Cute place with lots of character and nice people.
