This is a local spot, not a ton of parking, not fast paced, but it's a small amazingly tasty good coffee and wonderful pastries. Staff was friendly... also is pet friendly. I'll be back soon. Tip this is not your stop if your in a rush. But if you have those lucky 10 min pick up a quality coffee and pastry this is a must!
Avoid this place! Sad to say, the lousy service that existed at the Le Pain Quotidian previously, in this same location, is alive and well at Clark Street. Rude attitude and inattentive employees and we had even pre-tipped at checkout. When my dish was made incorrectly, I asked for the missing ingredients and then the plate subsequently sat in the window for awhile, without anyone delivering it, so I went to the food service window and got it myself. The food is waaaaay overpriced for what you get. It just wasn't worth it.
Food was good. First time here. We didn't have time to sit around and enjoy. Will come back again.I will try the pastry next time.
This place is my new obsession. I order it on DoorDash every morning now. Their coffee is 10/10, their pastries are 12/10 (I get their croissants and Swedish buns), breakfast burrito is 10/10, sometimes I even just order a side of eggs and they are so good and I usually refuse to order eggs for delivery. Highly recommend!
Don't tip before you get the good service. If you ask the cooks to warm something up for you, the register guy will be cool enough to try and get it done, but the cook's?Especially if you look different than they do, or differently than they expect you to. They'll sarcastically put your purchase in the oven long enough to burn the cheese on the outside, while keeping everything cold on the inside.Good food. Vindictive back of house.
