As the food began to arrive, the experience became even more enjoyable with all the wonderful aromas wafting around. Everything we tried was fantastic. I have to admit, even the mild dishes were a bit spicy for my taste, but they were still incredibly flavorful, and it only took a few bites to adjust. The portion sizes were outrageous! I took my pictures after we finished eating because we were too eager to dig in. A quick tip: the Google Street View shows the back of the building. When you reach the end of the shopping center in the photos, just know that the entrance and parking are around the corner.
I have often been extremely disappointed by Indian food in the US. Generally, Indian cuisine is toned down to cater to a Caucasian palate, resulting in bland and uninspired dishes. BUT NOT HERE! My first bites of the pepper lamb transported me back to my years studying for my PhD in Hyderabad. As beads of sweat started to form on my forehead and neck, I knew I had to call the waiter and make sure he conveyed my compliments to the chef. The bread was perfectly soft, and the gongura mutton brought back wonderful memories! And the best part? We requested MEDIUM spice. This restaurant earns my highest praise for its authenticity! Keep up the fantastic work, everyone!
We absolutely love this restaurant! The lunch thali and other lunch specials offer fantastic value, and the dinners are equally delicious. My favorite dish so far is the chicken biryani, which comes in generous portions. The service is outstanding and very friendly. The spice levels are perfectly balanced as well.
This spot was good! It is small and cozy inside. We tried the lentil crackers that were brought out and they were too spicy (for us). Mixing both sauces was a better option to tame the spice. Next, we had the 'Apollo Fish ', which is what photo we shared. The taste was really good! It did have some spice to it too. For our meal, we customized Lamb Korma and one of us had Goat Chettinad. Both dishes come with fragrant basmati rice. The taste was good and flavorful, yet spicy (for us). Just know/be mindful that with this type of cuisine, spice is expected! The good thing is that all the food was flavorful. The people were nice as possible too.
Amaravati were well staffed, clean and provided such good food. The restaurant deserves five stars. The portions are great too. You can easily split a plate if you purchase it naan with it.
