Island Cuisine - Brentwood

I ordered some patties through DoorDash last night, and they've become my new food obsession! The sorrel punch was absolutely delicious! Thanks, everyone! I can't wait to visit soon and try more dishes, especially hoping the curry chicken patty makes a return!!!

In this review, I will present only the facts and not my opinions. I had an unfortunate experience at this Jamaican establishment, which I hesitate to call a restaurant. 1. I arrived at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. There was no food in the display case, so I asked if they were closed. The young lady informed me that they were not. 2. I inquired about the price of a small oxtail; she quoted me $15.00. 3. I then asked if they had stewed chicken, and she confirmed that they did. 4. Ultimately, I ordered a small jerk chicken, requesting no rice or plantain, only cabbage with gravy on top, which cost me $10.00. When I reached my vehicle, I discovered that the container was ice cold. They sold me cold food! The chicken was old and not fresh. I returned to the establishment, and the young woman explained that they close at 9 PM and that the food was taken from the hot water bath. When I requested a refund, the manager refused, stating I should have noticed that the food was being held in water to keep it warm. She mentioned that once I left, they couldn't refund my money; however, she offered to warm it up for me! It was ridiculous to have to ask for the food to be warmed up when it should have been hot to begin with. I ended up walking out. They can keep my money and their food—I won't be coming back. Never again!

This is the best Jamaican food in the area—when it's fresh, of course! I've purchased from here several times, but unfortunately, the food has often been stale. The jerk chicken was particularly disappointing; it tasted really bad and even had a slimy texture. I don't think I'll be returning.

DO NOT EAT HERE! THEY HAVE ROACHES. NOT TRYING TO BASH THE COMPANY, BUT I'VE SEEN MANY! They have the nerve to charge an arm and a leg for the food that they don't even cook fresh everyday and they have roaches? No, I don't think so.

Paid $17 plus tax for curry ox tail, peas and rice like 3sweet bananas and some cabbage. I think for that amount the food should be great. The food was horrible rice was dry no taste and looked like 2 days old ox tail had no curry in it. Terrible food and prices.
