Rita's Italian Ice Frozen Custard

I drove 40 minutes to find that the restaurant was closed at 7:30pm, even though the door said it would be open until 9pm. I was extremely disappointed and there wasn't even a note on the door explaining why they were closed early.

I came here for a special evening out and wanted to treat my wife. The restaurant is supposed to be open until 10 pm, but they closed at 9:00. Very disappointing. Rita, please have the courtesy to update the hours listed online.

Before Covid, I used to frequent Rita's and it was one of my go-to spots for desserts. Unfortunately, all the Rita's in my area closed down due to the pandemic, which left me devastated. Despite this, I still had a craving for Rita's, so on my way to San Francisco, I made a pit stop in Brentwood to get my favorite treat: cotton candy Italian Ice with cotton candy custard. I even checked the Rita's website beforehand to ensure they had the flavors I was looking for. However, when I arrived at the store, I was disappointed to find out that they didn't have the cotton candy Italian Ice. Nevertheless, I was happy to see that they had cotton candy custard. When I tried to order an Italian Ice with cotton candy custard, I was informed that I could only get the Italian Ice with soft serve ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, or swirl). This was confusing and disappointing to me, as I had previously been able to get custard and Italian Ice together at a Rita's in Sacramento. The separate Italian Ice and custard I ended up getting were still tasty, but I left feeling a bit let down by the overall experience.

We love Rita's. The custard is rich and delicious. Perfect for a warm day or just when you need a treat.

This place was so mediocre? They don't put no effort into anything they serve! Would never go there again!! Ever.
