Self service food not very good The party kicking in every afternoon with DJ's dancers and musicians in La Folie douce is really cool and so is as well the
Well you think that you are cool because you are at La folie douce that everyone is talking aboutYou bet you are.
A group of 5 of us ate here on the last night of a week long ski trip. The food was great, and there was lots of it. Even better was the atmosphere. Just like some of the other reviews mention, it's like being in someone's living room, with great food and an even better host! Throughout the dinner the owner was very attentive and nothing was ever too much trouble. He has a great sense of humour and towards the end of our dinner, rather unexpectedly, he turned on the karaoke! Whilst not being something I'd normally do, it turned out to be great fun. Both the local French customers were singing, as were we in English. This mixed with a few complimentary shots of the local Génépi made the whole evening the perfect end to a great week away. Thank you! We all highly recommend this place and the owner who is lovely.
I stayed in Brides Les Baines for a week recently and wish I had discovered this place sooner. I was only able to eat here twice, but would definitely have gone more if the opportunity had arisen. A quirky place, it's like being in someone's living, and Jean the owner is a welcoming, funny host and chef.I had the salmon cheese wraps to start on my first visit and they were delicious, then I had fish for my main perch I think it was, and it was nice.Home made creme brulee with pistachio for desert, lovely. I normally never eat desert but was enjoying the evening so much I didn't want it to end.I spent my last evening here as well, as a treat to myself, I was not the only customer this time and the atmosphere was jovial and the food excellent, I had duck and it was delicious. The prices are very reasonable, just pack your bigger waist trousers.Oh and watch out for the Juniper aperitif, delicious home made, just very moorish.
