The walk from parking to the Restaurant was further than expected I regretted not bringing my rain-jacket. I was the only patron; I ordered Americano and was offered the Lemon Cake. The total cost was CDN16.50 (w/Tax) which I felt was high for such a simple snack. However, the cake was very good; the view from my table looking through the window across the lake was spectacular.; and the BC #24 road has few cafes etc. Overall my rating is based on the overall experience; but do ask for a price list before ordering!!
Driving along Highway 24 we were tempted by signs for cappuccino and ended up at Lac Des Roches. We were welcomed by a lovely Italian family and ordered 2 coffees. We were quickly offered home made cake so ordered one piece. To our total shock the bill for two tiny cappuccinos and portion of cake was $25. Other guests were also stung. So all I would say is ask prices before ordering or perhaps even better drive on by.
We’ve just moved the this area a year ago and drove by the signs cappuccino, lunch. We decided to go down one night for dinner and met Luca Georgio. All I can say is wow. Everything is home made the service is the best we were even offered a tour of the kitchen and it was immaculate. The view overlooking lac des roches lake is so beautiful too. Very romantic and peaceful. Whether your a family or couple you will really enjoy this restaurant. I think the prices are very competitive this is not a spaghetti factory this is a special upscale restaurant in a rural atmosphere. Can’t wait to go again.
Stopped for a quick drink whilst driving on HW24. Was not given a menu and nothing was displayed. Ordered one capuccino and two cups of tea and was asked if we wanted cake I'm glad I said no as when the bill was presented the cost was $23. Where does this guy think he is, St Marks Square in Venice? As we drove away I wondered if he had singled us out as idiots but no, looking on here they treat everyone the same! Surprised the owner had any teeth left.
We too were enticed by the red 'CAPPUCCINO! signs along the highway so decided we needed to check it out. The owner, an Italian fellow, was very pleasant and made the BEST cappuccino and espresso. Those signs don 't lie. He proudly offered us cake and we honestly didn 't want to offend him because we kind of felt like we were in his home : Anyway, we shared some lemon cake and it was fine. The bill was a bit of a SHOCK: $23 for cake and the 2 drinks. There are no menus so you really don 't know in advance what the prices are. The decor in the main restaurant building is eclectic to say the least. No shortage of stuff on the walls to look at. We enjoyed chatting with two German couples who had camped there the night before and seemed to be enjoying their visit. All in all, we really enjoyed our little diversion off the beaten path. Sometimes you just have to try these things keep a sense of adventure, and enjoy experiences for what they are. Can 't comment on the accommodation as we did not stay just a CAPPUCCINO! and bathroom stop. The scenery sure is stunning in the area and this resort is no exception. Even on a rainy morning, it was lovely and peaceful. And the cappuccino truly was worth stopping for :
