Getaway Grill - Bridgman

Wow, I just had the best dining experience I've had in a decade! I don't eat out often, mainly because I work in the restaurant industry, but this place really blew me away...

I've been visiting the Getaway Bar for years, and it's hands down the best place for steak, ribs, and burgers. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the other patrons are just as great. You won't find a better dining experience anywhere else!

Whether you're a Cubs fan or not, this spot in Bridgman, a slice of Wrigleyville, is sure to impress. The place was lively with a crowd full of Cubs supporters (plus one Pirates fan), creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were invited to choose any of the Cubs-themed tables, and our drink orders were taken promptly, featuring an excellent selection of draft beers. We started with cheese curds as an appetizer, which were absolutely delicious. We then shared a meatloaf dinner; while the food was great overall, the green beans were overcooked and mushy. The TVs in the bar area were tuned to the Cubs-friendly WGN, but those in our seating area were showing the Pittsburgh channel and focusing on the Pirates. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic time and will definitely be back!

The Prime Rib sandwich was fantastic! I've enjoyed it three weeks in a row now. They also have the best French fries! Don’t let a handful of past reviews deter you. I’m excited to try some of the other favorites on the menu. I can’t wait for Sunday night, my only night off from work until mid-December. Here I come, Getaway Cubbie Bar! Fly the W!

The next best place on Earth after Wrigley Field! The food is delicious, with generous portions at affordable prices. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is fantastic for Cubs fans of all ages!
