I arrived at 4:30pm and was surprised to find everything closed. It was strange for a fish and chip shop to only be open from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
As others have said the seating area of the cafe is very basic but with friendly staff, good quality food and very reasonable prices this was a great stop for lunch on a grim day in Brid. Luckily we had read other reviews and took cash with us to pay so that wasn’t a problem. Would definitely go back.
We had a lovely plate of fish chips this lunch time. We ate in the restaurant, friendly waitress and our cooked to order food quickly arrived. I had the haddock, my partner had cod..he said it was delicious , as was mine. Crispy batter, proper mushy peas, chips and bits on for me !! . Tea and a breadcake complemented the meal. Very reasonably priced too...couldn't fault it. NB my photo is missing the end of my fish as I'd already eaten it before realising I'd not photographed it
First off the fish and chips looked nice but when you get into eating them it 's a different matter. The chips were mostly scrappy, and had loads of 'eyes ' left in them, and lots of black and green on them. The was large but very watery and not even skinned. The whole meal was so greasey there was a puddle of it on the plate. There was 2 bread cakes on one tiny side plate so it was difficult to butter them without knocking your companions bread off the plate. The surroundings, tables and chairs appeared to have come from the ark. I have no doubt we won 't be going back there in a hurry
