The Garden Centre - Brighton

Had the fish and chips, only under £10 I think. When I compare it with a cafe I had fish and chips in London for the same price a few weeks ago, I feel stupid even wasting my money in London. The quality of food in Dobbies was fantastic, right on tartaric acid. An incredibly busy Mother's Day Sunday queues were busy as expected, but the staff kept their cool and the food was brilliant. Only drawback: Although the fish tasted fresh and tasty, there was a bit too much dough on it, I removed some unfishy pieces. But the stray quality was much better than any chip shop. Would recommend

We had the smallest pot if tea I 've ever seen with a Doll 's House amount of milk and a very small cup a very large cup of cappuccino definitely English style plus one scone. £8.75. I 'd consider that expensive and not good value for money. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff.

Good food especially if you 're looking for a vegan menu. I 'm not totally just 'mainly vegan ' so I could have some very tasty dairy-based brie on my vegan BLT. The vegan bacon was really good. Friendly service. I thought being sat outside by the road would have felt loud and noisy but I actually didn 't notice that much. Recommended.

Food seemed to have been prepared from cheap ingredients. The Peri Peri chicken was definitely reheated leftover chicken or cheap stuff. The salad was tired and had been prepared much earlier. Won't be going back!!

We went to lunch there with grandchildren but were told that for any main meal there was a wait of 1 hour and 45 minutes! The menu looked OK but sadly we didn't have any of it as we were not prepared to wait that long! Very disappointing.
