Take your choice eat in or take away either way the fish and chips are always fresh and yummy. Ask for the lunch portion unless you can handle a large portion as they are very generous. Good pricing and friendly efficient staff!
I arrived at the restaurant at 7:32 p.m. I was pleased to see that the restaurant closed at 8.00 which meant I was not too late. I was greeted by a staff member who was basically standing near the front door. I said I would like to sit at a table for dinner. Abruruptly I was told no, the dining room closes ar 7.30. I turned on my heel and left.
I have been here twice now when I've been in Brighton. This is one very busy place. I thought I would be early for dinner (4:45) and that it would be quiet. No! Most of the tables were full and there were people in and out for take out constantly. There was a table inside to write down your covid info if you were eating there. Covid vaccine info was looked at when you were seated. Once I ordered the fish with some shrimp and the other time just the fish. Both times it was excellent. Good portion. Coleslaw was very good and so was the tartar sauce. There seemed to be only one waitress and she was definitely moving fast! She did an excellent job! My meals were brought out promptly each time even though it was very busy in there. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Not many Americans in Canada right now, but here we are. We were traveling from Toronto to Montreal, and headed off the 401 to see a lighthouse on Lake Ontario. We came back through Brighton and stopped at Captain George's. The waitress was really helpful. She pointed out a special displayed on the window we had missed, buy one get one fish dinner half off. I'm so glad she did! Best fish I've had in a long time. She also gave us directions to the grocery store, and overall provided quick and cheerful service. I wish we could stop by again soon, but we're heading back through Maine. Just glad we found it.
