There are three rooms, including quiet areas, with nice decor. There is a small bookshop in the back and a library of cookbooks that you can browse. They also sell delicious chocolate. There is a small terrace in the front. This is definitely one of the nicest and most relaxing pubs in Hanover.
Twelve of us went to this restaurant for Christmas lunch and it was almost empty. The food was delicious, hot, and there was plenty of it. The menu had a good variety, including options for vegetarians and vegans.
My family arranged an afternoon retirement get together at The Independent, staff fantastic, atmosphere fantastic, food beyond fantastic. A wonderful pub. Thank You!
We visited here for the Sunday roast, which was excellent. The meat (beef and lamb), Yorkshire pudding, vegetables, all of it was exceptional. It was a large portion size at a reasonable price. Service was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be visiting again!
We weren’t eating on this occasion. However I ordered olives with our drinks. I wish I hadn’t as they were tinned, tasteless and watery. Drinks were exceedingly expensive as well. On the plus side the pub has a nice ambience and the man behind the bar was very pleasant. However £16.50 for a beer, a glass of wine and tasteless olives sent us home early. Pity as our previous experience there was a good one
