Asked to move to normal table via the manager who greeted us with face like thunder, told us that there was no table available … 3 mins later there was 2??? So we moved downstairs and looked on the menu and could not order the roast dinner we came for on the app. I spoke to a barman behind the bar and he smirked at me and said by 3.30 we are done with roasts!! I really can’t get my head around that a large pub on a Sunday that people come for roast dinner are completely out of everything by 3pm?! They could have said when we arrived we have no roasts left but they couldn’t even do that. Gobsmacked at the whole experience.
This restaurant is essentially our neighborhood pub. We come here for drinks, but we also frequently dine here. The staff is delightful. They offer a wide selection of drinks and there is usually ample seating available. The restaurant has a fantastic spacious outdoor area on multiple levels and is dog-friendly. You can enjoy a full meal or opt for small plates. Overall, it's a very pleasant pub.
I loved this pub with such a large space and a magnificent beer garden, which is divided into several levels, which makes it a more intimate and comfy place. I also like that it is a little away from the town centre and noise, thus becoming a small oasis
The pub has a nice and relaxed atmosphere. My friend and I both had the cheese burger; it was nice …. Nothing special but nice. I would definitely visit again .
The birthday celebration meal at this restaurant was very disappointing. The spiced chickpea salad with added chicken was lacking in flavor, with too few chickpeas and overly pieces of dry frisée lettuce. The chargrilled chicken was also dry and unseasoned. The duck salad was equally unimpressive, with soggy watercress, minimal vegetables, and watery duck. The creme brulee dessert was also underwhelming, with a small amount of egg-like custard and an overcooked biscuit. Overall, the meal was expensive and did not meet expectations. The kitchen staff and managers should try their own food, as other nearby pubs offer a much higher standard of cuisine.
