The staff were extremely helpful in the lead up to the event, providing digital menus in advance so that we could pre-order our meals. One thing that set this venue apart was the low deposit requirement and the option for each guest to pay for their meal on arrival, avoiding any last-minute calculations at the end of the event. The pub also gave us plenty of time to decorate the room further for the baby shower. The food was delicious and served in generous portions. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely consider booking future events at this venue. Thank you!
One of the top choices for Sunday brunch. The food is of excellent quality and the portions are very generous. We were able to get a table, but only because we arrived early. Next time, I will make sure to book in advance. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Plus, they are pet-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along.
After a day of traveling around the area, we decided to stop in for a spontaneous dinner and were warmly welcomed at the restaurant. The atmosphere was peaceful, with a small group of locals engaged in conversation in one corner and '80s music playing softly in the background. We both ordered the burger and chips, which turned out to be delicious, complemented by pints of well-maintained Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter. The staff went above and beyond in taking care of us weary travelers, even bringing our drinks to the table. Overall, this establishment is excellent and definitely worth a visit.
Superb service and wonderful food fish and chips with a focaccia starter, great crisp beers served ice cold in clean glasses. Everything a pub should be not cheap but still value for money. Fish was ocean fresh and chips chunky and crispy yet soft on the inside. Wonderful experience dog friendly and small enough to be intimate. We tried to go to the Black Horse in the town first (Greene King) but they said they couldn’t do food. We’re very grateful that we were diverted to the Plough. Highly recommend you won’t be disappointed.
Poor food. Inaccurate menu. Unenthused staff. What a shame… this really used to be the best pub for food in Rottingean. Hands. Down. I have brought my family here on multiple occasions. However, recent meals have been a shambles, items missing with no prior warning or explanation, just an offer of discount when we complain, which just ruins your evening. Most recently an order of “plant based redefined burger, bbq pulled beef and vegan sheese” came with a Pattie only in the bun. No “pulled beef” and no “sheese” for £17.95 no prior warning, just offered a discount. Management said not many people order it and haven’t had many complaints. I would have ordered something else or gone elsewhere if I’d known, at that extortionate price for a non homemade burger and frozen fries. The staff didn’t particularly care, offering 50% off that dish and saying they would “talk to the kitchen, once again”. Was once a favourite, now no more. Rip the plough, we won’t return unless the kitchen franchise changes. Very sad.
