Club Sandgate - Brighton

Great place to gamble away the kids inheritance. Don't gamble beyond what you can afford.

I went to this club for dinner with my wife for first time since february. We did not have a very good experience that night. There was a really loud grumpy chef woking and the food wasnt that great. I have to say that the new chef really knows how to make delicious meals. It has improved a great deal. They have changed the menu and i had the pork dish which i absolutely loved. My wife had a seafood pasta which had lots of fish prawns and clams. It too was delicious. The food looked like something you would get in a high class restaurant but it was really affordable. All the staff are really friendly and the drinks are cheap. Great place to take a family for dinner. Great atmospere. We'll be back for sure.

I have been going to the club on Monday nights, because of the meal and drink prices. Just recently they have introduced karaoke, which I don't mind listening to. But most of the people who are turning up now are only there for the karaoke and not much else. So it feels like you are sitting among a karaoke club meeting very uncomfortable. They also have change the meal deal, buy 2 meals and get lesser-value for free. Great deal but limited menu.Overall the food is good, no issue with any of the meals I have eaten and the club could do with an update.

We hadnt been for years as it was pretty awful and recently we went with friends and was surprised the meals had got alot better. so we have been back a few times since then. decided to go there new years eve as we didnt want a big night and it was local. they packed you in and because it was a hot night it made it abit more uncomfortable even though the air con was on. it was suppose to be a wild wild west night and the staff dressed up but the band was r&r and there were all these people there who could dance properly who also took over the dance floor so people like us felt like they couldnt get up and just wing it. they even brought their own food and if i was the owner of the place it wouldnt have been very happy about that. but even though i am not a country and western fan we all thought it was strange to have a western theme and a band who played rock and roll(even though they were good ) i think the club could of done alot better and if it was me i would of like to attract the local crowd and get abit up to date with things. i dont mean to get all trendy as we dont need that in sandgate as we have our two great wine bars for that. the meals have improved so now they need to update the decor and maybe have entertainment that will suite a wider range of people. also i hope they change their menu every few months. the staff are very friendly and the place seems clean.

A good little local club, but felt it was a little dated. Was quiet when we went but was mid week. Meals ok but very limited menu & no vegetarian options. Pizza was good. They have a curtesy bus for locals/members. Full bar. Pokies.Staff friendly, will return in future but probably will aim for a busier time.
