The coffee was excellent, with a nice presentation and good strength. The egg white omelette had a generous amount of spinach, almost turning the dish green and covering up the mushrooms underneath. The smoked salmon was fresh and elevated the dish. As a fan of Cafe 63, I had no regrets about missing out on the first two spots. Overall, it was a great experience.
This restaurant is a reliable choice for us. While it is a chain, they offer a wide variety of food to cater to everyone's taste, prices are reasonable, service is good, and their kitchen is almost always open. Unlike most places that claim to serve "all day breakfast," this restaurant actually does - you can enjoy pancakes or eggs benedict at any time of day. The food is not extraordinary, but most dishes I've tried have been enjoyable. I appreciate the complimentary selection of jams. I do wish they offered iced teas, especially with summer approaching. The only option I saw on the menu was a matcha frappe which had a strange taste - it seemed like they added chai or herbs instead of pure matcha and milk.
These places are popping up now all over Brisbane. It is not hard to see why though. They have the free bottled water of course (not my thing though due to the recycling issues however I do love the fact they serve free fresh hot chillies toast of choice. This morning we ordered a simple breakfast just scrambled eggs for the other half avocado for myself with a rosti chillies (lots of them too!! The coffee I may also add is pretty good comes out pretty strong with the single shot well presented too
The restaurant offers a wide variety of food choices and generous portions. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are welcoming. However, the soy latte I tried for the first time in Brisbane was quite disappointing compared to what I've had in Sydney. The froth had an unusual taste and the coffee itself seemed off, possibly due to a different soy milk being used.
Myself and various family members have eaten at this Cafe 63 on four or five occasions and all have been very impressed with the brilliant value and service.Cannot get enough.
