At the same time, having the restaurant to ourselves made for a special outing. We dined in the esquire section, but chose from the esq. al a carte menu. A friend and I shared the chicken, the cod and the marbled rib; with mozzarella and beetroot as sides. Everything was exquisite as expected simple ingredients and simple flavours. I would have preferred a little more horseradish on my beef, and the beetroot wasn't particularly special, but everything else was incredible. Even the warm brown rye that came with house pickles was delightful. The Campari curds and...read more
Return visit to esq. was disappointing. More so because the first was so good. Opted to share everything and we agreed that the protein dishes were under seasoned (there is no salt on the table to fix this) and our steak overcooked again perfect the first time. Simple menu but lots of choices with packed flavours. From the starters to share to lighter option all the way to desserts. The best dessert in town hands down popcorn parfait. Would go back for this dessert with a cup of good coffe even as an afternoon tea/coffee break. Enjoyed all the dishes we ordered and want to try more next time. Thank you for a great service. That made the experience fully enjoyable!
