Food and staff are amazing. Best food I've had in ages. Choice is a bit limited however the food they make is fabulous cannot praise them enough
Place was pretty faultless. Casual but sophisticated. I had slow cooked pork roast with a straight Grenache. Chef actually came out and said hi and asked how it was. I mentioned I had a cold and sore throat to the waitress who delivered my bill with some take away salt for a gargle and some honey for a tea. Who does that? Awesome. Will be going again.
First time visitors for dinner & very nice. Restaurant is attached to a Mantra Hotel next door but is stand-alone in a beautifully restored old home. The menu provides good variety from snacks, meals, deserts & 2-course meal deal ($30). There is various beers & wines (by glass or bottle) on offer. The food was very tasty & cooked on site in an open kitchen.Staff were friendly & professional, with the chef coming to the table to check we were happy with our dinner - nice touch. Not right in the action being upper Valley/Spring Hill. I was able to get onsite parking (metered parking during the day).
I was travelling alone on business, and staying next door at the Mantra Richmont Hotel. On three occasions I had my evening meal at the Kennigo Social House and was very pleased that I did.The staff at the Social House are friendly and helpful. The beverages list has some very nice choices for beer or wine drinkers. The atmosphere at this restaurant is friendly and relaxing.I only had one entree with my evening meal. That was: confit tomato and basil tart, avocado salsa, fried squid, and lemon sour cream. Very tasty. One night I ordered a medium rare steak for my main course. When my char grilled rib fillet arrived with mushroom pithvier and smoked garlic mash it was cooked just as I like it.Perhaps the most interesting meal I had was roast duck done Asian style. This was roast duck breast with noodles and bok choy in a soy and sesame broth. Usually I would not order this type of dish for my mains, but I was glad that I did on this occasion.Mains at this restaurant are around the A$35 mark. However, if you have not dined at this restaurant before, I suggest you look up Kennigo Social House on the internet and choose Menu. This will give you a list of Starters and Mains with current prices.
