I had the Assam fish while my friend tried the curry chicken at this restaurant. Both curries were delicious and tasted authentic, perfect for anyone who loves Southeast Asian cuisine. The food was spicy and the portion sizes were impressive. I highly recommend visiting Sri Mahkota at Pineland Shopping Centre in Sunnybank for truly delicious Malaysian food at a great price. This place definitely knows how to serve up authentic Malaysian cuisine.
After enjoying coffee with a friend at this cafe on Friday 7th April 2017, my wife and I decided to return on Wednesday 19th April 2017 to try out some of the impressive Malaysian dishes on their menu. We drove 22 km from our home to have lunch at this cafe in Woolloongabba. To our disappointment, when we placed our order, we were informed that nasi lemak was no longer available on the menu, as well as rendang chicken rice, roti canai, and all other curry dishes. The reason given was that they were no longer allowed to cook curries on the premises. We were puzzled as to why this significant menu change was not communicated on the cafe's Facebook page or website. Despite feeling a bit let down, we decided to try the asam fish rice and coconut fish rice, along with a cup of teh tarik and Malaysian white coffee. The asam fish had a spicy and tangy flavor with okra and basil, while the coconut fish had a Thai taste with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and coconut milk. The fish pieces were delicious and the jasmine rice was well cooked. Overall, the dishes were decent but not outstanding. The teh tarik was very sweet due to condensed milk, and the Malaysian white coffee was strong with a light color.
First visit today, but will return. had breakfast and chose from the Malaysian traditional menu. two menus are offered; one is western and the other Malaysian. eat very well and easy. the coffee was wonderful, not the usual, sometimes boring style we used to. the staff was very helpful and polite. worth a visit.
Had the Roti wirh vegetarian curry. Taste really good and I love the spicy and the flavor that brought from the coconut milk; they mixed those things really really well. Will try another food next time.
