Proof BBQ Booze Windsor - Brisbane

The service tonight at Proof BBQ was abysmal and I’m not sure whether or not it’s because of brewoomba today and the staff were over their jobs and lives or whether this is a common theme here? From the beginning we were told we weren’t able to order from the bar and had to use the app, we informed them that we had cash and they weren’t interested in letting us use it even though cash is a legal tender. We were then pressured into ordering the $65 banquet, which was apparently the best option for price and serving size/wise (which was absolutely wrong! . The food took 1hour and 20minutes for entrees to come out, 40 minutes for drinks (including warm jugs of water and than over two hours for the mains. Value for money was absolutely shocking, measly main and entree platters for people with over cooked meat of all sorts, coleslaw that replicates exactly that of kfc, burnt potatoes and overall super unappealing and unappetising. The owner was seen stumbling throughout the restaurant and unable to stand straight all whilst slurring his words when speaking to customers at his own venue (big day or night mate? . The owner was then seen becoming incredibly aggressive shoving a customer who attempted to give feedback about their disappointment in their service and spitting in another customers face. Not acceptable behaviour from the apparent owner especially around young children and other paying customers. It then cost well over what it was worth. We will never be returning.

The food was delicious, however we booked the Al a cart menu but only had a set menu to choose from which was more food than we needed and very expensive! It took 3 hours in total for us to complete our meals, they seemed very under staffed and it was slow service, table service but we had to grab them to get service. They were very friendly though.

Spectacular food, hospitality, service and atmosphere! This place has gone straight to the top of my favourites list. Thanks Ryan and Renee for a brilliant experience.
