Fantastic experience. my brother had an egg allergy and they took care that they all limited chances on cross-contamination and always told us how they would do that, as with our cocktail ingredients. the waiter also told us what other dishes of those we ordered would not be suitable to try. he was also super friendly and had an amazing memory of our order to remember! beautiful atmosphere and eating was great as always.
We jumped to the house before our train, we had no booking, so it was a long shot if they had one table, but they did. it was very busy with Saturday afternoon groups in, but it felt safe. many drinks were ordered by the bar, all that looked amazing. order and menu is on the QR code on each table. and a few years ago we thought the QR code was dead. excellent service. great food.
With my family let in to eat a bite and a drink early a sunny summer evening. the drink order went lost and took 20 minutes before we had any refreshments, not sure why, it was not busy. eating was actually quite good, although the calamari was very small pieces (probably the last pieces in the bottom of the bag). my beef-burrito was very tasty. the part of having a table with a view of the millennium place was the number of beggars who came to ask for money or a zigarette, entirely from the meal.
Honestly, it 's not the first place I thought of after a while since visiting Bristol. It was a late lunch with friends and the menu appears to cover most bases. Environment is as expected clean and fresh. Welcomed as a party of 4 and asked if the table was suitable as there were other options. The outlook of a metal dome, water feature, media screen and other 'art ' installations feels industrial but slightly like a site of departure for further travel/adventures. Once sat at a rather comfy 1/2 booth and seating for 8ish we viewed the menus. Ladies loved the cocktail selection and while some of the beers were bottled the rothhammer red was an interesting and pleasant find. Now the rest consisted of a couple of draft Corona pints, 2 pina-colada, 2 tutti-frutti, 2 vanilla mai tai, lemonade (driver) and a double Havana 7yr (guilty). All arrived and were enjoyed accordingly. At some point between all these tipples the food arrived. Unfortunately we were there during a transition of menus/products and the choices were limited by this. Following a healthy selection of starters and mains that all enjoyed and devoured without mercy. The pudding choices/time arrived... Now affogato was not a choice... The lady that was serving the table agreed to acquire one. The second espresso, as the first had chilled was thoughtful and unexpected. All 4 had a very pleasant time and don 't disregard 'chains ' it 's the front of house staff that can make any establishment (not forgetting the chef). Oh and boy the goat curry is good but a little warm. Thank you for the second espresso it was just the little bit extra and not forgotten.
