The Chefs Table - Bristol

The food was rather bland, portion sizes were small, and overall it was underwhelming. The flavors were not very pronounced, and while it was acceptable, it certainly didn’t justify the steep prices. The dessert was delightful, though. Additionally, one of our guests got stuck in the restroom, and the staff didn’t seem very apologetic or offer any compensation, like a drink. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, and the food presentation was attractive. As for vegetarian options, there was only one choice for each course, and they were decent but lacked excitement in terms of flavor. Overall, the dining experience was just okay.

The food and service at this restaurant were exceptional! This was our second visit, and it certainly lived up to our expectations. What a delightful experience! Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5.

I had a rather odd experience at this restaurant. It was nearly empty when we arrived. We opted for the five-course tasting menu paired with a wine flight. While the wines were decent, they fell short of great and the descriptions provided didn’t quite match what we tasted. The food was adequate, but it didn't measure up, especially considering the plethora of excellent dining options available in Bristol. The bream tartare starter was enjoyable, but the vegetarian main course—though it sounded appealing—was utterly bland, even though I’m not a vegetarian. Spending over £200 for two people is reasonable if you receive something truly exceptional, but this was far from it. To top it off, the chef came out at the end to discuss the meal, which felt unwarranted given how mediocre the experience was.

Delicious food, but I found the table setup a bit too close one to another. Not sure how a person that is not slim will feel comfortable in that setup. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £100+
