Food: Decent, albeit sweeter than Indian traditionally should bePapadum servings were generousEntree portion sizes were lacking.
The personal is very friendly. but eating was slow to come. the cost for some meal times were ridiculously high. sea bass with only salat costs £18 and consisted of 2 small filets. but general meal tasted good. would recommend pairing for a special occasion.
As we arrived at hotel we had to walk through a plume of smoke as front steps were full of smokers then we were asked if we were guests which we weren't so seemed to be sat at back of Walters grill there was no magical atmosphere
I booked Walter's Bar and Grill through OpenTable on Friday for a special birthday dinner for my friend on Saturday night. I know it was last minute but I didn't think I would have trouble finding a restaurant with all that Bristol have to choose from. OpenTable showed that the first available table would be at 9pm. Fair enough with the last minute booking, so I went with it. When we showed up at 9pm the restaurant had 2 other tables still dining but the rest was completely empty and from the looks of it, had been for quite a while. I asked the person who was at the front desk why we had to wait until 9pm when the restaurant was empty. She said it had not been busy all night and did not know why we had to wait until 9pm for a table. The food was amazing and the wine lovely but the ambience was awful. By the time our mains came, we were the only ones in the restaurant, and it is a very large restaurant. How awful! What was supposed to be a fun night out was a bit awkward. I don't mind paying good money for good food but I felt very let down.
