Chick-o-land - Bristol, City of

Not being a fast food aficionado I feel compelled to sing the praises of the often maligned and commonly under-rated master chefs of the underworld. I have had a kebab from Chick O Land once before and it blew my mind. The meat was tender and freshly cooked, the salad was crispy and comprehensively colourful and the chips (in both shape and size) had the unique form that sat reassuringly comfortably between a Burger King thin French fry and a traditional chip shop chip. Following this culinary revelation I checked the reviews to seek the views and experiences of other fellow customers and was amazed to find others had posted reviews like “Ok”. I knew I needed to return. I went back last night and I am pleased to report that the chefs are not just great but seemingly consistently brilliant. I had the lamb sisha with medium chips mayonnaise and a light splash of chilli sauce. Eating it out of hand on the walk home doesn’t do it justice. I cradled it back to the house where with a nudge it presented itself beautifully on the plate. It was a genuine treat and unwrapping it could probably be the greatest present I get this Christmas. I recommend all to see beyond the bright lights and punned branding to discover this hidden gem in what I believe is Keynsham’s greatest dining experience. That said the mrs nicked a bit of my plate and has shocking tummy ache.

The food is quality, and generous, and the prices are reasonable. The service is friendly, and the place is very clean. They say The best chips in the town I found them to be not very special... Twice I asked for my doner meat to be well done, and twice I was dissapointed, but the meat was good quality. I will return, and try other meals on the menu, which is very varied... This is a one stop fast food place for all, and delivers free if over £10 order...

As the first customer at the restaurant, I ordered a doner kebab. I observed the chef cooking the doner meat on the grill and it appeared to be leftover from the previous night. I decided to inspect the food and ultimately threw it in the bin as it was disgusting.

Ordered online. Waited an hour for burger chips and kebab. All was cold when it arrived. Chips were like cardboard. When we complained they replaced kebab in 10 mins but it too was cold and they argued that previous delivery was cold. All we wanted was a basic takeaway. Instead we got cold awful food and an argument. Avoid this place

Standard fried chicken and kebab shop. Not the best chicken ive had but ok. My spicy chicken wings werent the greatest and one wing i dont even think I could class as a chicken wing it was so small. Chips cooked fresh in front of you.
