Despite booking a large booking we were put on two tables with a beam in the middle separating us, table was booked for 7pm, starters (which was a serving platter so could have easily been prepared for our arrival as pre booked didn't arrive until gone 8. We didn't have our mains until 8.45 (FOR A 7PM BOOKING! , and even then all the steaks were served lukewarm, which we complained about. Had a further activity booked for 10 so had to rush at the end as service was so slow, I didn't get to finish my meal. Also the table split meant we were severed separately so one table had their food served before the other table, the first table finished their mains before the second table were even given there's, which given I booked as one big party was just shocking. Bar service was slow, with one particular bar staff member on 2 occasions choosing younger girls to serve first despite us waiting longer at the bar. Also there were balloons that kept popping making the entire atmosphere unbearable with all the loud bangs All in all awful service, not great food. Wont be going back there again.
After reviewing the menus to make sure they could accommodate the fact I cannot have dairy and gluten. They have a fair large GF menu which i was pleased about! I made them aware of my intolerances when we got there (and at the booking ordered the new potatoes (dairy free and the chicken, bacon and avocado salad minus the parmesan (fairly standard and all the other restaurants would find that an easy change! A few minutes later I get presented a vegan menu and told I cannot have anything on the gluten free menu I must have vegan. I questioned the burger to see if it was GF to be told the bun would be, I said normally a lot of vegan burgers have gluten in but this one would be OK? To then be told why not have the warm harissa baked squash salad with cider mustard leeks, spinach, rocket, pomegranate salsa, lemon garlic tahini dressing, tamari toasted seeds. After feeling a bit in shock I just agreed because I felt pressured into making a decision (although she was very nice and did try! The potatoes came and I got a grand total of 4 small potatoes with no garlic in sight, the salad though was pitiful, a handful of spinach, 4 thin slices of butternut squash, next to no dressing, no salad, no toasted seeds and it was cold! When the waitress came back I did said I was disappointed I came to have meat and never been told I couldn't and that I have to have a vegan meal because everything is pre-made and that the meal it's self was not that great and I was going to be very hungry afterwards. She said that she is sorry but everything is pre-made and that's that (she was nicer about it unfortunately we had plans afterwards so couldn't stop off somewhere to get anything else to eat I we aren't from the area so didn't know of any takeaways safe to use later in the evening. So 4.30am waking up starving really isn't great. Hugely disappointed that they can only accommodate you if you are gluten free but if you are dairy free you must eat from the vegan menu (I don't have an issue with vegan meals but it's not what I wanted! And it being nearly £70 out of our pocket for a meal for 2 that left you hungry. Never again.
I went to cosy club for a brunch with my boyfriend on a Sunday morning, and as we’d booked we were taken straight to our table. I wasn’t too sure with the location of the table as it was right in the middle of lots of other tables and I would usually prefer to be tucked away in a corner, but caused no major issues at all. We ordered a drink each. The drinks took a little while, but we understood especially as we had ordered a smoothie and a cocktail so we expected them to come some time, however a sever promptly came over to tell us “sorry for the long wait, would we like another complimentary drink each to make up for it”, which we happily took even though we didn’t feel the wait was that long! The drinks followed shortly, along with the complimentary glass of Prosecco for my birthday (a great touch! and then by the other drinks after. We both had the butchers brunch and I would say certain items were a bit small on the plate, but everything all in all was lovely, especially the pork belly, not expected on a brunch but so soft and sweet.
Visited 11am Saturday, this is a very busy spot! We hadn't booked but were told a 15-20 min wait for one as a maximum. Darren was great and kept us informed and found us a table within ten minutes where we were expecting a long wait for food but it only took 12 minutes. We were really impressed with the food, the service and the atmosphere. Monica was great, efficient and friendly and Darren was the headline act!
I have been to the Cosy Club a number of times for lunch and evenings and always enjoyed myself. Today was different, we had a very Large Group of 46 people. (Yes 46) How could they cope with such a large number ? Answer. Very well indeed. The tables were well laid out in a secluded area, the Staff were low in number but extremely efficient and friendly, The food was very good and the tables were served very quickly and with spot on accuracy considering that extras and additions had been ordered. Everyone I spoke to was very complimentary about the food, the service and lastly the lovely interior decor of this iconic building. Value for money £22 for two courses in a City Centre is in my opinion very good. Well done to the Staff you did a great job.
