Turtle Bay - Bristol, City of

I wish I had read the reviews before coming. I came in to eat by myself. It was a few minutes before the servers acknowledged my presence and I told them it was my first trip to The UK. The server instructed me to sit between two large very loud parties even though there were multiple seats available. Didn 't ask if I would like to eat outside. I sat a table over to not be disrupted by the larger parties noise. I ordered a drink and asked for a straw. The waiter told me, We only give straws for drinks that need it. I don 't like lipstick on my glass which is why I use straws. I think that 's an incredibly rude way to welcome someone to your country and to your restaurant. The drinks were bland and the food was average. Will never go back.

The food was really yum and the portion was much bigger than I was expecting. I liked that they offered a vegan chickpea jerk wrap (MASSIVE) and it still had fantastic flavour. The plantains are delightful and the jerk halloumi is really yum!

This place is always very lively and full of people getting very merry swigging back Cocktails. That might lead you to believe it won't be the best place for food but don't let it put you off as the food is fantastic. But before we get on to that, back to the cocktails!! They have 241 cocktails until 7pm and after 10pm. My favourite was the Tobago Tea, but everyone I sampled was lovely. Worth getting there for the deals as it's £6.95 a pop if I remember rightly. For food I shared a sweetcorn fritter starter, you got four fritters and a BBQ dip, it was nothing very special but definitely tasty. For mains we shared a prawn and mango curry which came with rice and peas, it was really tasty with a good kick. We also shared the jerk salmon which was spiced beautifully. It came with a salad and we opted for sweet potato mash. In hindsight I'd have gone for the fries. The desert was AMAZING, choc brownie with coconut ice cream and a orange moose. This place is noisy and and full of merry people but it you can get past that then the food and drink is amazing. Great place to celebrate a birthday!

The best Caribbean jerk chicken I've ever had! The service was impeccable and the drink selection was interesting to say the least. Highly recommend!

It was a mixed night here! Food was average. I ordered the goat curry and my friend ordered the jerk chicken. My curry was Iuke warm as if it was sitting around for a while. Food was served within 5 minutes of ordering and arrived before our tap water. Never a good sign. 2 for one on cocktails up to 7pm. That was good. However, it was pretty busy for this reason. Probably wouldn't go back for food!
