Blu Seafood Restaurant Bar

Surprisingly nice late night spot. I must admit I often over look places on Merrick Blvd but I?m glad I gave them a try. I was looking for a place to dine on late Friday night. This place surely delivered. We showed up a bit after 11pm. There is asecurity check before entry. The place is kind of small but the it was full of energy. The drinks are pretty decent, prices arecomparable to LI restaurants and the food was delicious. Aside from dinning in, I definitely would order food to go.

I went to Blu on a Thursday night to find it was ladies night/happy hour. This meant there was a discount on appetizers and drinks. I had the seafood egg rolls the fish tacos and the sweet chili shrimp! I thought the egg rolls would come as regularsize egg rolls but it was more like spring roll size. They had shrimp and crab meat inside but I'm not too sure I tasted crabmeat. The fish tacos were good. The sweet chili shrimp were nice and big. The place isn't too big but it's nice and intimate.Big screens tv's and nice decor. The waitress was very attentive. The appetizers were in the range of $8-$11 and there was likea $2-$3 discount on top of that for each item because of ladies night!

5 Stars is not enough this place is a 10/10. The food was amazing so rich and flavorful and the portion was HUGE, I had the Paella and it was honestly like 3 dishes in one definitely couldn?t finish in one sitting. I also had the most excellent servicefrom my waitress Ashley she did such a wonderful job catering to our needs and in a timely manner as well. Overall an amazingand chill environment I loved it and I?ll definitely be coming back. For reference I came early in the afternoon around 4-4:30pm

Went for happy hour got appetizers drinks. Wings coconut shrimp was on point. Music was excellent not too loud it was at an enjoyable volume so u can still have a conversation. Drinks were good. Atmosphere was nice. Service was pretty good, i read theprevious reviews about slow service, we didn't experience that. Drinks came out fast food came out in a reasonable amount oftime.

The atmosphere is good but after 10pm it's like a club not my cup of tea). But the appetizers I had was good, drinks good but my food had was salty the lobster mac and cheese) and over cooked the lobster) bit the grilled chicken and pasta was goodjust to spicy for me. Overall a good restaurant.
