Ma Smith's Dessert Cafe - Broad Channel

The chocolate cake cake was moist and everything but it was a little to much chocolate for me. I enjoyed the poundcake it was delicious reminded me of my moms. the bread pudding was also delicious I enjoyed it as well. I will definitely be telling my family and friends about Ma Smiths Dessert Cafe

Great cakes, loved the carrot cake and strawberry slice!

We were pretty disappointed by our order. The Lemon Cupcake is just a butter cupcake with plain buttercream frosting and a dollop of lemon jelly on top. I was hoping for something with a strong lemon flavor, a nice mix of tart and sweet at the very least, lemon cake and lemon frosting, but all we got was an overly sweet plain cupcake dressed up to look like lemon. It wasnt good. All of the cakes were too dense and dry, both cupcakes and the German chocolate slice. German chocolate cake is my favorite, and I was so excited to try this. It was so disappointing. The cake was dry and the coconut pecan frosting was overpowered by the heavy chocolate frosting on the sides. It was also way too sweet. The German Chocolate Slice was just not good. The Velvet Gold (CHOCOLATE VELVET CUPCAKE) looked like it had been wrapped in plastic before it came to us. The "cheesecake" topping tasted and looked like it had been sitting around for a while. The menu items looked good in the photos, but everything ended up being dry, dense, and way too sweet. Given that we tried 3 items, it isnt just a case of not liking one thing unfortunately, we just cannot recommend this place.

Sweet Potato and Peach Cobbler are both good. They are premade and felt very cold to the touch. Very generous sizing, each pie could feel at least 2 people. Same with the cobbler.

It was perfect. The Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting was delicious!
