They are very accommodating as I changed the reservation a couple of times because the party grew and the time also changed. This is one of my go to places and it doesn't disappoint!!
I feel like saying this in a whisper, but the folks at Pietro's just don't know how good a restaurant they really are. Without muss or fuss, this restaurant serves excellent food that harks back to the glory days of East Side midtown Italian steakhouse ascendency. The Last Man standing, their steaks are absolutely sensational, meat quality, first rate preparation, everything you would expect anywhere. To say it's an unprepossessing room is a generous statement, but that does not get in the way of the kind and attentive service and the classic offerings prepared extremely well. By the way, they have the best and most authentic seafood salad, a.k.a. insalata frutta di mare, in New York City. After a brief hiatus of about 35 years we have returned, shall we say with a vengeance, and expect to be regular customers going forward. Just don't tell anyone how good it is...
Pietro's is a nice restaurant with good food and excellent service. It's not exceptional but certainly worth a visit.
Large portions, authentic Italian standout is the lasagna, veal parmesan and veal marsala with an abundance of mushrooms.
Despite having made a reservation on Open Table, the mattress d' said he couldn't seat us. When I asked if it would be 30 minutes or an hour before seating, he hedged and it became clear that an hour was the most likely prediction. There were a bunch of people trying to get seated. What is the point of taking reservations if you can't honor them?
