The place was empty, with only a few customers at the bar and one older couple seated. Despite making a reservation, they didn't check for it and seemed disorganized with other reservations as well. Some customers were told there was no food service, only the bar, while others were seated awkwardly. Our food came fast, but we ended up having to wait longer than expected, resulting in ordering extra drinks to pass the time. The menu was decent, with some unusual choices like shrimp cocktail on a salad and bland French onion soup, but the potato pancakes were a standout. The schnitzel was good but dry, and the duck was tasty but oddly presented. Dessert was a little dry, but the drinks were enjoyable. The decor was unique and festive, but the staff seemed passive and disengaged. Overall, the experience was okay, but felt off for a tourist attraction. The prices were high, and the food was okay but not exceptional. It seemed like the owners may only be present during peak season, with the staff maintaining the place the rest of the year. We wouldn't return.
Lost its appeal… While the decorations are still lovely, the food quality has declined significantly – the wurst platter was average and the duck lacked flavor. The prices have also increased to an unreasonable level, especially considering the mediocre dining experience. Surprisingly, the beer selection has also decreased to just six options. The only highlight was the delicious strudel, but overall, the dinner was overpriced and unimpressive. Unfortunately, we do not plan on returning in the future.
