I am guessing there was only 1 chef working that night (we were at around 8:30-ish, and there were 2 other tables).
The owner is super friendly and such a hard worker! On a Sunday night she (and one chef it seems) were the only ones taking care of 5 big tables, but she didn 't slip up in service at all. When we first arrived, we were the only table and she spent a long time going over the specials/recommendations. While the food is mostly good and warrants a return to try more classic, comfort dishes, I do think what they specialized in was a miss haha. Their specialty is cold crab (didn 't order) as well as their house steamed goose. It 's another cold dish by the way, prepared like white cut chicken she said. The goose we had was on the skinny side so there wasn 't much meat, and flavor wise, only tasted a bit of five spice, so it 's very mild. It wasn 't bad, just didn 't get the appeal for a house special. The sauce it came with was so yummy tho. There was a dish that was very similar to bbq roast pork. Tender tender pieces of pork, more like the jowl cut of the pork and not the traditional cut used to make this dish. I 'm meh on this as I found it very sweet, but two others demolished this. The seafood dishes are the star here (they 're called Seafood Palace for a reason). Crispy soft shell crab is must order! Ginormous crabs, with a thin batter that crisped up so nicely. I thought it could 've used a bit more salt and pepper actually, but we did start the dinner requesting less salt and less oil loll. Next up are razor clams in XO sauce they took off the shells, it wasn 't sandy at all, and there was just sooo much razor clams. XO sauce is perfect. Stir fried octopus was saucy and tender, loved the octopus itself. There was a fish soup they served on the house (since we ordered so much) that was freaking heavenly. So much umami from the fish meat/bones, and fresh herbs. I could 've had many more bowls. Lastly, there was a simple stir fry fish dish, while it was good, there just wasn 't much fish to go around. Can 't wait to return for more comfort food at such reasonable prices in the area!
I had steam fish, Chinese style lobster, it's tasty Service is friendly, food is good
The most un-delicious Chinese food I've ever eaten.Even after ordering twice when cashier mistook my order. No flavor.
The food was amazing as always. The chef is from Shunde, which is one of the origin for Cantonese food, and the chef definitely show extraordinary skills with cooking Cantonese food. The fish and chicken dishes are always great. I will definitely come back again!
