Hampstead Hotel - Broadview

Have eaten a lot over the years and the experience is up and down. Last night, dinner was a little down. The Angus-Rindburgerpatty was barely edible. Instead of being soft and juicy, it was hard and "compact" as it had... in some kind of food press not pleasant. As always, the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the charming Sophie.

I recently went to this restaurant with a group of five for lunch on a weekday. It wasn't too busy and our meals, except for one, came out quickly and all at the same time. The waitress apologized for the delay with the late meal. I ordered a steak from the seniors menu. While I didn't expect a large meal from the seniors menu, the steak was very small, about the same size and thickness as a steak in a sandwich. The other meals were a reasonable portion size. The prices for drinks were high, for example, a bottle of non-alcoholic beer was $7.90, which seemed excessive.

Our large group had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The kitchen was understaffed, resulting in a 40-minute wait for our food. The salad bar was poorly managed, with limited portions available and no coleslaw. We visited a few days ago without any issues, but today was a disaster.

Very disappointed. Meals arrived steak just warm and not freshly cooked by any stretch of the imagination. Staff didn't seem to know what to do more training required. I pointed out problems. Told on paying to point it out sooner next time. Sorry, but...there won't be a next time

Great to have a salad and veg bar back. Parmigiana was huge, but curry was lukewarm. Bread rolls were a bonus Staff friendly and helpful.
