We were welcomed into a cozy house and ordered aperitif in the living room before we were invited into the beautiful restaurant section. This evening there were only a 5-course meal and it was not a stupid choice. Lovely food, and a big plus was that they had a non-alcoholic drinks package for me who drove a car. Very tasty all together. We had a great time in beautiful surroundings with very nice hosts.
All diners are seated at their tables simultaneously and delight in a wonderful meal made with locally sourced ingredients, paired with a fine selection of wines. Our meal consisted of a fresh pollock starter, an elk fillet main course, and a three-flavor ice cream dessert. The dishes were all seasoned with herbs from the restaurant's extensive garden, which boasts over 200 varieties of herbs. The historic building, with centuries of local history in its walls, added to the charm of the experience. Hostess Aina provided a brief overview of the restaurant's origins, enhancing our dining experience.
We had a fantastic stay at Hildurs with the utmost culinary treats for a five course dinner, comfortable sleep in beautifully refurbished rooms and the most delightful breakfast served at the table in the drawing room. It was like visiting your generous, dear old aunt, you felt welcomed by the lovely staff from the start. A stay worth an endless amount of stars, as our youngest put it. If you have any dietary requirements they’ll cater for that as well, and also prepare suitable meals for the children. At Hildurs you’re served boiled coffee, the taste is absolutely sublime, made with coffee beans from a local roastery in Forvik. Make sure you also taste the herbal pizza for lunch, and take a tour in the fascinating herbal garden. We will return, for sure!

You need to book in advance, and if you have a chance you should try this out. I can promise you a memorable evening with only local suppliers of all kinds, delivered directly to this restaurant. You are normally just told what is on the menu for the evening, usually a five or three course menu. The restaurant is known for using all kinds of herbs, growing in the backyard of the restaurant
