Took some googling to discover a business in Sydney that would make these tarts so am very glad to discover Ikhwan Cafe. Appreciate the baking skills as these tarts aren’t easy to get right at all.. and I also couldn’t find anyone else in Sydney who makes them. I think if advertising goes further to target more Malaysians and Singaporeans community here, would be a super big hit. A lot of people may not know it’s also called Tart Nenas, : perhaps adding “Pineapple Tarts” as label and in any social media advertising messages would help a lot. Ordering process through Sal was smooth and easy. Staff were friendly when we turned up and offered samples of other delicious cookies they made. Also served very authentic Teh Tarik tea : Thank you very much
Amazing Malaysian restaurant. Their location is really good, within 100 meters of pyrmont bay light rails. This place is adjacent to Darling harbour and Star casino with great view of Pyrmont bay. They have great selection of Malaysian cuisine with buffet option but what sets them apart is their ‘pay as you wish’ buffet on every Sunday, their goal is to provide food for people who need it. This buffet runs with the help of their own foundation as well as help from customers. Some customers may be unable to pay any price for the buffet, but some customers anonymously pay more so that food prices of other customers are covered. If you want to have some buffet with great Malaysian cuisine as well as help people, this is a great place.
The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and quick. I would rate the satay chicken a 7 out of 10, the chicken biryani an 8 out of 10, and the prawn sambal petai a 7 out of 10. The three-layer Bandung arrived in two layers, but it still tasted fantastic, earning an 8 out of 10.
We enjoyed some delicious, fresh food made to order. The premises were very clean, and the iced tea was refreshing. The prices and portion sizes were excellent. We stumbled upon this place and were so pleased we decided to go in. There are many more items on the menu that we didn’t get to sample, so we’d love to return. The location in Pyrmont is fantastic. Thank you for the lovely meal!
I went to pick up some nasi lemak bungkus for takeout. They prepared it fresh when I ordered, so it was still warm by the time I got home. I also wanted to try their Penang laksa, but unfortunately, it was sold out! However, the nasi lemak was incredibly authentic and brought back memories of the one I used to buy from a roadside auntie. I highly recommend this place for delicious and genuine Malay dishes. The service was friendly as well!
