It was so tasty that I ended up dipping my buttered toast into the runny yolks, finishing every last bite. I’m curious to find out their secret for cooking eggs like that—maybe next time! Some of the potatoes were crispy, just how I like them. The service was fantastic and prompt. I couldn’t help but notice the charming old-fashioned stools at the counter. It was definitely worth the extra walk of a few blocks. I apologize for using the word 'perfect' again, but that truly describes my breakfast experience. The price was great, too. My friend ordered a grilled cheese sandwich—possibly with tomato—and it came with a side of coleslaw. This place is incredibly popular, and it’s easy to see why!
This restaurant has really declined. The food is mediocre at best, and the batter on the fried items lacks flavor. The service was disappointing; the waitress clearly didn’t want to be there, which was evident in her attitude. There was a noticeable lack of customer service. Additionally, the waiter talked negatively about a customer in front of others, which was quite unprofessional. Overall, it created a rather disheartening atmosphere to dine in. I won't be returning.
The diner offers impressive comfort food, though the only downside is that they aren't open 24 hours. I visited based on a recommendation from a coworker while I was in the area for lunch. They have a brunch special that includes a drink and a fruit salad with select menu items. I was in the mood for French toast, so I ordered it. It came with sausage, bacon, ham, and two eggs cooked to my liking. I also treated myself to an Elvis milkshake, which is essentially a rich and creamy peanut butter and chocolate shake with a hint of banana. It was absolutely fantastic—definitely worth the $8. The size was good, and the flavor was incredible. The food was basic but really well-prepared, which is impressive since many diners struggle with making a decent French toast or breakfast. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring everyone was having a good time and enjoying their meal. With this place and Pegasus, Bay Ridge boasts two excellent brunch options for the weekends.
I ordered a Waldorf salad from this diner . The salad was ok but the salad dressing was horrible luckily it was on the side.
Great customer service. Worth your money and big servings. Food was great. Low key and calm vibes. Would definitely visit again!
