Everything we ordered was impeccable, the sides were a good portion size and the flavours were so fresh and different. To top it all off the bill was very fair, and it is BYOB so all in all a very affordable evening out. The garden was lovely to sit and enjoy the food in.
Overall rating: 4.45Average rating accurate.Being half Filipino, I was a bit nervous to try this place. I don’t love fusion which is what I’ve seen when I’m in manhattan. However, this was pretty authentic and the food was pretty good! I’ll share a quick rating of what I ordered why I’m not at a higher rating. Longsilog: Pork Sausage a good variation of the traditional style. Sausage was more spicy than sweet which was a nice twist. bangsilog: Smoked Milkfish I’ve never had this before so I have nothing to judge it against. But it was dry. It would have been nice if there was a sauce attached bbq silog: Chicken OMG THIS SLAPPED. This was so good, highly, highly recommend. ? I may come back just for this. halo halo waffles: this was very good. The waffles were amazing. In addition the place is BYOB (with no cork fee). I didn’t learn this until the tail end of the meal wish that was clearer on the website’s menu or in the reviews.I recommend giving it a try. The staff is very friendly if I’m in the area, I might try some other items. (Along with bringing a bottle of wine)
‘FOB’ What a cute place; loved the decor colors they chose! Very green welcoming! Even the restroom was beautiful clean; So you know me I appreciate that!I was there for an event had a wonderful time the other day in Carrol street couple of blocks away from the F/ G train. The restaurant was Very easy to find, no hassle! I never got the chance to try Filipino cuisine before, so I had to come all the way from the Island ! Tell you the truth the Chef his stuff didn't disappoint! I personally know how difficult nerve racking is to cook for more than 40 people at once, so I can confirm that they did an excellent job.I also have to mention that how respectful they were towards me my religion! They came upto me told me which item was Halal how it was cooked so I know which items I can eat ! Very rarely anyone from a restaurant cared enough to do that for me. I will never forget that; they didn't have to do that ! I was the only Hijabi there they could have just ignored Me! I will definitely let my friends family know about it so they also can come enjoy! Now let's talk about the food; my favorite was the Eggplant Omelette! Just yummy! I also enjoyed the Waffle which was topped with ice-cream fresh fruits, red beans chickpeas. I actually loved the taste of that Smokey unique fish which is called Milkfish! It did taste little similar to a Bangladeshi fish, that was interesting! I did felt that it could use some salt seasoning ! That would make this great fish amazing ! I did try the Garlic rice, it was great. I didn't try the BBQ Chicken, the meat was Halal but they used the same grill to cook pork! So I can't have that. And that's what they actually let me know before we started eating. I am so very glad about that.I am definitely gonna try to come back when it gets warm. Because the backyard looks so cozy inviting . It would be fun just to seat there relax with friends! Thank you so much for the honor to let me visit this beautiful place, try out new cuisine meet new people. I made lots of friends we all had a blast !
Came here with a friend on a weekday night as we were in the neighborhood and pretty hungry. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside which is absolutely beautiful and created the perfect ambiance. The service was prompt and our waiter answered any questions we had about the menu. We decided to share the octopus salad which was yummy. I got the grilled pork belly (a bit salty but good and my friend got the adobo chicken (forgot to take pics bc we were so hungry! . He said it was good. To finish we shared the halo halo which is a transitional Filipino dessert and was a refreshing treat to round out the meal!
This is hands downs the best Filipino restaurant in Brooklyn. Exceptional service, delicious food and great ambiance. A gem of Carroll Gardens, would highly recommend. My favorite dish would have to be the halo-halo waffles, talk about a mix on a classic filipino dessert.
