I absolutely love the vegan bacon bun at this restaurant. The danishes are also delicious. The vegan grilled cheese is very tasty, but it's quite pricey, especially if you add a vegetable. The maple lattes are also a highlight!
If you are anything like me, you may not realize there are two stops named Myrtle on the M line. And, like me, you may end up getting off at the wrong stop and having to finish the journey on a bus. But despite these mishaps, you will still appreciate the free transfer and maybe even develop a soft spot for the MTA despite its flaws. Because, if you are anything like me, you will find it all worth it for the sake of these delicious vegan croissants. Bon appétit!
I think the place is overhyped. Went there a couple weeks back, and ordered every kind of vegan pastry they had plus coffee. The oat milk they added to the coffee separated into mushy flakes, which I am still puzzled about because it was the same brand (Oatley barista) I use at home and it never separates. As a result, the coffee was extremely bitter and not worth the money. The pastries were nice but a bit too dry and maybe not super fresh? Also not worth $5 a piece. I'd probably get the almond croissant from them again if I'm in the area, but I wouldn't bother driving half across the city for the sole purpose of visiting this place again. PS. Also, the owner displays some unfortunately strong attitude on social media. It's all fun and quirky until someone criticizes their food. So, owner, if you're reading my review: it's not personal, it's just a review. Updated from previous review on 2020-11-20
The vegan croissants and cheese melts are amazing! I got a danish and I wanted to cry tears of joy. Iced latte for 7$...my wallet was crying. The neighborhood is amazing and this spot is definitely gentrifying it, I probably won’t come back but it was a good experience.
