They were closed despite taking our reservation. No one told us they were closed. And there were other people there who also has reservations and weren't told the restaurant was closed. Unprofessional and disappointing
Awful experience. Was super excited about the menu and tequila. The restaurant was pretty empty, maybe two other tables were there, bar was empty. As a result of the lack of patrons, the host/waitress told us to choose our seats and when we did, she told us we couldn’t sit at the table by the window. She was overly aggressive and was waving her hands as if we did something wrong. We left. I couldn’t even sit at the bar for a drink after she was so rude. We spent nothing here and ended up going elsewhere. Management should absolutely address with the staff on 9/8. They easily lost a $150+ ticket as a result of her unprofessionalism.
We were very disappointed. We had eaten here soon after it opened and were delighted. But not this time. There was an event at Barclays Center (three blocks away) so we thought we needed a reservation to be able to get in. But the place was absolutely empty. There was a B health rating in the window and a sign that said they were no longer taking credit cards. As to the food: the guacamole was very good, but the chips were super ordinary store bought ones (they did give us more without our asking). The mains (Chile Rellenos and Lechon–pulled pork) were quite good but without the authentic flavor of the dishes when we first ate there. Worse, despite the fact that there was only one other occupied table, it took nearly an hour to be served with food that was not cooked to order. I gave the service a 2 star rating because of the inexplicable long wait, but the Front of House service was excellent considering the circumstances. The beer was comped without our asking, the waiter was pleasant and efficient (as efficient as you can be with an extremely slow kitchen), and he did apologize for the wait.
Tow of us are celiacs. They accommodated us well with corn tortillas and corn chips for the guacamole. Will return!
