I saw the waitress in the microwave coffee in a cup. the restaurant is small. from a few tables they have, are about 2-3 tables filled with either sauces occupied the waitress and the other with a utensil stand. with approx. 6 tables for customers. then the tables were dirty with unrecorded tellers, while the waitress sat on their phones. the owner must honestly manage the personal better, the service has always lacked. would only return the IF service. but overall it would not recommend going here.
We ordered some Empanadas (chicharron en salsa roja, picadillo, desebrada) which were delicious. We also ordered guacamole and enmoladas, but found the enmoladas to be too sweet for our liking. We only ate one. It would have been helpful if the menu described this dish as very sweet or if the waitress had given us some feedback. The customer service from our waiter could have been better, as she seemed unwelcoming and did not engage with us much beyond taking our orders. However, the owner of the restaurant was very attentive, checking on our table to ensure everything was okay, and offering us water and dessert. Overall, I would return to this restaurant as the empanadas were delicious and the customer service was good.
I have no photos to share as I always forget to take them when I'm on a mission to eat, but I can assure you that the food at this place is so delicious that I've driven from McAllen to eat here multiple times. Even my friends who complain about the distance end up really enjoying the food and forget about the long journey. The service is always good during my visits - I sit down, get the menu, place my order, receive my food relatively quickly, pay, and leave happy. My go-to order is a torta and 3 or 4 quesadillas, perfect for refueling after a long drive. The main dishes are easy, tasty, and affordable. My personal favorite is the torta de cochinita pibil. The non-fried quesadillas are always a hit, especially with cheese. The menu offers a variety of options such as rajas, tinga de pollo, pork in green salsa, huitlacoche, and cochinita pibil. I've tried them all and they're delicious. The egg bacon dish is also amazing. Whether you decide to try this place or not, you're guaranteed to enjoy a fantastic meal. Trust me, I've brought many friends here and they all love it.
One of the best restaurants we were in brownsville! the menu is diverse and interesting. my friend and my mother had the pozole verde de pollo and said it was fantastic. I had entomotadas and a flare de calabaza quesadilla and it was also great and you have to try the pande elote! everyone was so friendly, the quality of the ingredients is high, and they can say that much care and effort goes into the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant as a whole. we will definitely return!
The portion sizes are small, the service is awful, it's not worth your time to eat here.
