As someone else commented you should surely go with the special. Seafood dishes in Brugge have a very flavorful broth that is to die for. Our fish meal today was a combination of salmon, whitefish, mussels, leaks and a bit of cheese is a majestic fish broth that had just a hint of creaminess to it. The Flemish beef stew with a side of fries is good and very mild for those with a sensitive stomach. Both dishes came with fries that go well with the sauce in the main dish. Also, an outlier from our time in Brugge was the exceptional side salad. All other side salads we had downtown should immediately be dumped in the canal as they seem to have all come from the same bag from the grocery. The side salad here however was quite lovely with tomatoes, fresh ingredients and a delicious dressing. Again, this spot is for locals, come with that in mind and you will enjoy some delicious food and a quiet dinner.
Took a chance on this place after reading a few positive reviews. Was not disappointed. Great food in a romantic little dining room. Prices are very fair, compared to the rest of Brugge. The building is from 1634, and much of it is original. 10/10 will visit again the next time I'm in Brugge. Also adding a few pics, as they are sorely needed for this little gem! :
Lovely restaurant, the Flemish style asparagus was very very tasty, and the Flemish beef stew was delicious for a Chinese like me, cause it tastes very close to Chinese beef stew. Will be back to the restaurant next time in Bruges.
A cozy, quiet restaurant with great atmosphere, service, and food. The building is also a protected heritage site. If you have no trouble with anything cheese related and the suggested dishes include it, please take them up on the suggestion! I wish I wasn't in such a hurry to eat that I didn't stop to take a picture. Having found myself in a Bruges where apparently everywhere else was full, this little gem was a fantastic way to wind down from exploring.
If you like to choose local food experience, this is your place. I went there without knowing what to expect and found a lovely little dining room with the wooden fire place going and many authentic old decorations to make you feel like a guest in a private home. So no surprise if the food was very tasty and fresh. The service was very good and staff very nice. We took our time without noticing how much tome we spent in this room. Always a good sign of well spent time!
