Cafe Du Sablon - Bruxelles

Located in the Sablon area, this charming café offers delicious food and an incredible atmosphere. Situated in the heart of downtown Brussels, it comes highly recommended by Numm.

I will not be coming back to this restaurant. While the pancakes were delicious and fluffy and the cafe had a cute ambiance, I was disappointed to find out that the food is not made fresh. The pancakes are heated in a microwave and the waffles are heated in a toaster. Additionally, the server was seen blowing her nose and then handling food with her bare hands without washing them first. Overall, it was a letdown considering the charming atmosphere of the cafe and the bustling crowd inside.

This restaurant is a good place, but I am not sure why it has so many 5 star reviews. We ordered the acai bowl, the Sablon brunch, two coffees and an orange juice. The photo was taken halfway through the meal. The acai bowl was decent, but nothing exceptional - just fruit, smoothie and granola. I felt like I could have made it myself at home. Additionally, the smoothie was extremely cold, which would be refreshing in the summer but in December, it left me feeling chilly. This drastic change in temperature made drinking the coffee a strange experience, as my body went from cold to hot very quickly, affecting my ability to taste the coffee properly. Despite this, the coffee looked great and tasted good initially (before my taste buds were overwhelmed).

The waffle with fruit and the espresso macchiato were perfection. Kind of busy but not too busy to feel unwelcoming or crowded, you can tell it Is just a well-loved Café.

Great selection of brunch choices. Decided to sit there and try the iconic Belgian waffles accompanied by coffee but they were only serving pancakes that day. However the staff was amazing and even offered to charge us for the price of the waffles. Decided to try the pancakes with the fruit. The portion was large and all the fruit were unexpectedly fresh. Very satisfied, although it’s a bit crammed inside and the spaces between the tables slim.
