This restaurant is small but charming, especially if you enjoy Asian pastries. The service is always friendly and you can pay with cash or the Payconiq app.
This restaurant in the heart of Brussels makes a good effort to preserve traditional Chinese food culture. The furnishings are a bit outdated, and the baking skills and recipes are average. The egg tart, dan tat, had a problem with the tart base sticking to the aluminium holder, causing it to be destroyed when pulled out. The custard was okay but on the sweet side. The char siu sou, roast pork pastry puff, had a decent char siew filling but the pastry puff was bland. The char siu bun was just a regular Chinese bread bun with roast pork. The wife's biscuits had an okay winter melon filling but the pastry was bland. The confectionary is small and there is no seating in the shop, only cash payments are accepted. The bubble tea counter, located in the other half of the shop, was closed during our visit.
Delicious spot for freshly baked egg tarts and other Chinese pastries. This is a cash-only establishment, so do come prepared. Most pastries are priced between €1.50 to €2, which are reasonable given the location.
These are one of the tastiest buns I have ever eaten, if not the most tastiest. There weren’t too many options to choose from, I think it is because of the pandemic but there were quite a bit of savory buns. The curry chicken was good and very soft but the red bean filling and custard filling buns were much much tastier. Definetly give the red bean one a try, it was honestly amazing.
