The reviewer appreciates the extremely fresh quality and delicious taste of the products. They particularly mention buying vegan items like tofu, vegan cheese, gluten-free products, and nut butter. However, the reviewer notes that customer service could be improved, as employees seem unapproachable and continue their conversations instead of greeting customers. Despite this, the reviewer still visits the store weekly for its great food and vegan options.
This restaurant has a good variety of items, with a friendly atmosphere and a great selection. Occasionally, they offer gluten-free vegan donuts in the small refrigerator in the packed ware section.
I love coming to this restaurant because they have high quality produce, especially the bananas which are the best I've ever had. They are even better than the organic fair trade bananas at Whole Foods, which I think are better than Dole bananas. The restaurant only carries conventional bananas, priced at 49 cents per pound. The bananas are creamy and sweet, similar to what you would find in tropical countries like Costa Rica or Thailand. The bananas come from Mexico and have a unique sticker on them. In addition to bananas, they also have good dates, local honey, exotic fruits like lychee, jams, preserves, mangos, bread, and affordable tofu. The watermelons are consistently good quality as well. While other fruits are similar to what you would find elsewhere, they are of better quality here. I bought a box of 16 Ataulfo mangoes for $10, which is a great deal compared to local prices. One tip: avoid buying from their distributor as they charge the same price as the restaurant. It's better to buy directly at the restaurant.
